Sensex,
on Friday, closed 14 points up at 28240 as investors booked profit
after the post budget rally. Among sectors, Realty, PSU and Healthcare
gained over 0.9% to 1.6% each. Among stocks, SBI, Coal India and Cipla
gained over 1.7% to 4.2% each. Market breadth was positive with 1,637
advances against 1,183 declines.
Nifty closed 7 points up at 8,741. Today, we expect markets to open on a positive note on the back of positive global cues.
US
Markets closed on a positive note. Dow closed 0.9% up while Nasdaq
closed 0.5% higher. U.S. stocks rose after Labor Department data showed
U.S. employers in January hired the most workers in four months. US
markets, today, will see data releases on Labor Market Conditions Index
m/m and Loan Officer Survey.
Asian markets are trading on a
positive note; Nikkei is trading 0.2% up while Hang Seng is trading 0.7%
up. SGX Nifty is trading 40 points up at 8,800. Indian ADRs ended the
day on a mixed note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI Bank closed 1.2%
higher, while HDFC Bank gained 1.7%. Among IT ADRs, Wipro closed 0.4% up
and Infosys gained 1.0%. Tata Motors ADR lost 0.8%.
