Sensex,
on Monday, closed 199 points up at 28,439 after hopes built up that RBI
might go in for a rate cut at the Wednesday’s policy meet. Among
sectors healthcare, FMCG and Realty gained over 1.3% to 1.9% each.
Among stocks, Adani Ports, ICICI bank and sunpharma gained over 2% to
4.2% each. Market breadth was positive with 1,847 advances against 1,065
declines.
Nifty closed 60 points up at 8,801. Today, we expect markets to open flat to negative on the back of steady global cues.
US
Markets closed on a flattish note. Dow and Nasdaq closed flat. US
markets, today, will see data releases on Trade Balance, JOLTS Job
Openings, IBD/TIPP Economic Optimism and Consumer Credit m/m.
Asian
markets are trading on a mixed note; Nikkei is trading 0.4% down while
Hang Seng is trading flat. SGX Nifty is trading 11 points down at 8,805.
Indian ADRs ended the day on a mixed note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI
Bank closed 1.4% higher, while HDFC Bank gained 0.2%. Among IT ADRs,
Wipro closed 0.4% down and Infosys lost 0.2%. Tata Motors ADR lost 0.2%.
