Stock Market Updates -

Sensex, on Thursday, closed 145 points down at 28,840. Among sectors, PSU, Power and Realty lost over 4.3% to 1.6% each. Among stocks, NTPC, Sunpharma and Adani Ports lost over 2.5% to 3.1% each. Market breadth was negative with 1,978 declines against 915 advances.

Nifty closed 46 points down at 8,900. Today, we expect markets to open on a negative note on the back of negative global cues. 

US Markets closed on a negative note. Dow closed 0.5% down while Nasdaq closed flat. U.S. stocks declined as raw-material shares slid with commodity prices and investors assessed the rally that has pushed equities to new highs.. US markets, today, will see data releases on Final Services PMI, ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI, FOMC Member Evans Speaks, FOMC Member Powell Speaks, Fed Chair Yellen Speaks and FOMC Member Fischer Speaks.

Asian markets are trading on a negative note; Nikkei is trading 0.1% lower while Hang Seng is trading 0.5% down. SGX Nifty is trading 30 points down at 8,892. Indian ADRs ended the day on a mixed note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI Bank closed 1.9% lower, while HDFC Bank lost 1.7%. Among IT ADRs, Wipro closed 0.2% up and Infosys lost 0.5%. Tata Motors ADR gained 2.4%.
