Sensex, on Monday, closed 36 points up at 31309 helped by the country’s GST preparedness and investors’ focus on banking counters ahead of the RBI policy. Among sectors, Capital goods, realty and consumer durable gained over 0.8% to 5.8% each. Among stocks, L&T Ltd, TCS and Bajaj Auto gained over 1.1% to 1.9% each. Market breadth was positive with 1428 advances against 1248 declines.

Nifty closed 21 points up at 9,675. Today, we expect markets to open on a positive note on the back of positive global cues.
US Markets closed on a negative note. Dow closed 0.10% down while Nasdaq closed 0.16% down. Today, US markets will see data release on Ivey PMI, Jolts job openings and IBD/TIPP economic optimism.
Asian markets are trading on a mixed note; Nikkei is trading 0.64% down and Hang Seng is trading 0.39% up. SGX Nifty is trading flat at 9697. Indian ADRs ended the day on a mixed note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI Bank closed 0.1% down, while HDFC Bank closed 0.4% down. Among IT ADRs, Wipro closed 1.3% up and Infosys closed 0.3% up. Tata Motors ADR closed 0.83% down.
